SINGIN' THE BLUES

Ray Charles died yesterday, at the age of 73.  This is my idea of somebody for whom we should have a National Day of Mourning.  A great, great musician has left the building.  I, for one, will miss him far more than I would any ex-president.

Amen! I second that motion. Sadly enough, he's barely noticed against the backdrop of what's his name.

Amen, marigolds2 - our local paper the KC Star on Friday only had a little blurb about the Ray Charles' death  - in fact, although it was on the front page, t was so small, I just saw the picture and thought - oh, Ray Charles will be at his funeral-but I didn't see the other part of the article which was just a tiny column beside the big headline about ex-President Reagan.  But, no - then I saw the bottom of the screen on CNN later that day that he had passed.

A great musician indeed! It's a shame that it kind of got swept under the carpet with Reagan being such a focus. Ray Charles did a ton more for breaking down barriers. :-) ---Robbie

A great talent has been silenced.  Thanks for all the great music, Ray.
