I'm back, a great time was had by all, and now there's the devil to pay. it's such a gorgeous day that it seduced me outside to start the momentous task of getting ready for spring. i wore out, but G's still out there pruning! she'll be sorry later. news from outside: the crocuses (croci?) are blooming! the daffodils have buds! the buds on the japanese quince are full and fat, ready to pop!
no real posting possible now, no no, i must do work for school for the rest of the afternoon, in order to be able to catch at least some of the Oscars. a quote to ponder: "The penalty good people pay for not being interested in politics is to be governed by people worse than themselves." -Plato
now, how long ago was Plato? nothing changes much, does it?

Good quote! You're right, nothing changes.
John got up this morning and checked the school's website to make sure they didn't close because of the beautiful weather today :)
wouldn't it be great if schools did that? closed on the first beautiful days that felt like spring? give all of us a much-needed lift. we'd be off and able to go for a walk, or plant lettuce in our gardens, or fly a kite. a celebration of release from the drudgery of winter nastiness.
great quote there...! welcome back!!!
Well said, Plato.
Great Quote...Thks, Marigold!

We're just getting our first spring like temps here - but nothing is sprouting just yet. It's a little frightening that nothing was much different in Plato's time. YIKES! I'm glad you had a great weekend and welcome back!!
